Scandium nitrate, also known as scandium(III) nitrate and abbreviated as Sc(NO3)3, is an inorganic compound that is an oxidizer. It forms a natural crystalline aggregate and is soluble in water. Scandium nitrate is used in applications such as optical coating, catalysts and electronic ceramics. It is also an excellent precursor for the production of ultra-high purity compounds, catalysts and nanoscale materials.
